 TEACHER WORKSHOPS

Innovation in Connecticut History: Individuals, Inventions, Ideas 

Join us for an afternoon exploring the CHS's rich collections related to individuals, inventions, and ideas that changed history in Connecticut and beyond. Go behind-the-scenes to see photographs, documents, letters, tools, machines, and other objects from Connecticut’s colonial days to the Industrial Revolution. Participating teachers will receive materials for use in their classrooms. Refreshments will be served.

In Your Classroom

  • Introduction to History Day for Students
  • Group limit: 60 students or 2 classes
  • Using Primary Sources: A Case Study
  • Group Limit: 30 students or 1 class
  • Creating an Effective History Day Exhibit
  • Group Limit: 30 students or 1 class

The cost for each CHS educator-led program is $25 with a maximum of three presentations scheduled per day, plus round trip mileage from the CHS to your location at 60¢ per mile. Each workshop lasts 45-60 minutes, depending on your class period length.
